YAWI has launched a six-month Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) learning cohort designed to equip young mothers with the knowledge, confidence and support they need to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. The cohort creates a safe and inclusive environment where participants can learn, ask questions, share experiences and grow together without fear of stigma or judgment.

The first session introduced participants to the fundamentals of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), helping them understand key concepts, their rights and the factors that influence their health. Through open discussions and interactive learning, the young mothers explored topics that are often overlooked or surrounded by misinformation, creating space for honest conversations and shared learning.

Over the next six months, participants will engage in a tailor-made SRHR curriculum that responds to their unique experiences and challenges. Each session is designed to strengthen their understanding of sexual and reproductive health, improve access to essential health information and services, and build the confidence to make informed choices for themselves and their families.

At YAWI, we recognize that empowering young mothers goes beyond providing information. It means creating opportunities for them to connect with one another, build supportive networks and gain practical knowledge that can positively shape their lives and the futures of their children.

This cohort is more than a learning program it is a reminder that every young mother deserves access to accurate information, quality healthcare and a supportive community that believes in her potential. As this journey unfolds, we look forward to witnessing growth, resilience and the positive impact these young women will create within their families and communities.

Together, we are nurturing confidence, promoting informed choices and building healthier, brighter futures.
