The Psychosocial Support Project was carried out by YAWI to address the social, mental and emotional health of adolescent mothers. In order to help young mothers deal with stigma, trauma and the difficulties of early motherhood, the project offered safe spaces, counselling sessions, peer support, and life skills training. Teen moms were given the tools they needed to boost their resilience, restore their self-worth and make wise choices for both their own and their kids’ wellbeing.
