Sexual And Productive Health Sensitization
SRH is described by the amalgamation of “sexual health” and “reproductive health”. Sexual health has been defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as “a state of complete physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality; not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity”
In this project, YAWI offers Adolescent and Young women SRH information, education, and awareness about policies, rights, and how to access health services. To adolescents, YAWI helps them understand their sexuality and protect them from unintended pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS. This is also coupled with education on menstrual hygiene and giving sanitary towels to the vulnerable girls and young women in the informal settlements of Nakuru County.
