STEM Education

Children have the right to a safe, formal, and high-quality education, but many girls are forced to leave school or never have the opportunity to attend due to various factors. School is crucial for girls to exercise agency, have their voices heard, and gain leadership opportunities.

Absence from school can lead to teen pregnancy, child marriage, and gender-based violence. Education is essential in combating harmful gender norms and empowering girls to drive change. It prepares them to be leaders, innovators, and change agents, and to deal with future crises.

It also helps them to overcome barriers, build their confidence and improve their decision making abilities.

Skills to succeed

Our goal is to provide vulnerable girls in informal settlements with safe, quality, gender-transformative education to empower them and learn leadership skills. We prioritize equality, inclusion, and diversity, working with communities, governments, religious leaders, family members, and children to end gender inequality in education.

a) Advocacy for affordable education (including elimination of school fees).

b) Awareness-raising in importance of girls’ education (so parents will strive to send all, rather than some, of their children to school).

c) Advocacy and actions to make schools safer and more secure.

d) Bridging the digital gender divide supporting girls take opportunities to become digital creators and learn skills that will allow them to flourish.

e) Creating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) opportunities for Women and Girls
